Usage:
3192 And 7251 (74E) Marine Transmissions
Description of Change: An oversize piston ring seal is available to service the clutch group used in 7251 (74E) Marine Transmissions. Use of the oversize seal rings allows a worn clutch cylinder assembly to be salvaged. Illustration 1 shows the location of the oversize ring seal.
Adaptable To: The 7T5433 Ring [0.76 mm (.030") oversize] is adaptable to the 4L4320 Clutch Group used in the 3192 and 7251 Marine Transmissions 74E1 through 74E2299.
The 7T5433 Ring (oversize) can be installed in place of the 3D146 Ring (standard) when the 4L4343 Cylinder Assembly is bored to the dimensions shown in Illustration 2. The cylinder assembly may be bored a lesser amount, provided the 7T5433 Ring gap is adjusted to 0.38 mm (.015") when the ring is fitted in the bore of the 4L4343 Cylinder Assembly.
