Put a mark through the 7N8106 in the New Part No. column in the chart and change it to read 7W8106.
--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------
Description of Change: Longer bolts with spacers are now used to retain the exhaust manifold to the cylinder head on the above engines. The longer bolts stretch more when installed and are, therefore, less likely to loosen than the former bolts. The new manifolds have spotfaced flanges to provide a mating surface for the new spacers.
Adaptable To: This improvement is in effect with 3516 Vehicular Engine 28Z618. The torque specification on the new 9L7373 High Temp Bolts is 55 ± 7 N·m (40 ± 5 lb ft). The new bolts, spacers and manifolds are in effect as shown in the following chart and are direct replacements for the former parts when used together. The former manifolds can be used with the longer bolts and spacers by adding a 21.0 mm (.82") diameter spotface to all bolt holes.
