NOTICE

Ensure that all of the rotor components are thoroughly clean before assembling the rotor. Failure to do so can cause an out of balance condition that can cause rapid wear to the bearings and the spindle.

  1. Install O-ring (22) on retainer (20).

  2. Install retainer (20) into the cover assembly.

  3. Install tube (21) and install pin (19).

  4. Install clip (14) and O-ring (16) onto spindle (15).

  5. Secure Tooling (A) in a bench vise. Place a socket on Tooling (A) to hold the rotor assembly.

  6. Place spindle (15) and rotor base on Tooling (A).

  7. Install plate (13), O-ring (12), and rotor tube (11).

  8. Install the paper liner (10) from rotor tube (11).

  9. Install O-ring (9) and clip (8).

  10. Install cover (7) and tighten nut (6) to a torque of 40 ± 6 N·m (29.5 ± 4.5 lb ft).

  11. Install rotor assembly (5) onto the filter base.

  12. Install O-ring seal (4) onto the filter base.

  13. Loosen clamp (3) and nut (1). Remove cover (2) from the filter base.

  14. Install cover assembly (2) and hand tighten nut (1).

  15. Install clamp (3). Tighten clamp (3) to a torque of 20 ± 2 N·m (177 ± 18 lb in)

  16. Tighten nut (1) to a torque of 15 ± 2 N·m (133 ± 18 lb in)

End By:

  1. Install the centrifugal oil filter. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Centrifugal Oil Filter - Remove and Install".
