Correct Specifications For Crankshaft Deflection

Usage:

D379, D398, D399 Industrial, Marine And Generator Set Engines

In the Marine Engine Application and Installation Guide, Form SEBM2239, Pages 33 and 34, the maximum crankshaft deflection is incorrectly given. The correct specification for maximum crankshaft deflection is -0.01 mm (-.0005") [close-in] or +0.025 mm (+.001") [spread out]. Special Instructions, Form SEHS7456-01, Alignment Of Caterpillar Marine Transmissions And Marine Engines; and Form SEHS7654 General Alignment Instructions; have the correct specifications and more detailed information about the measurement of crankshaft deflection.
