Usage:
7231 And 7241 Marine Transmissions
Description of Change: A baffle has been added to the pilot bore of the manifold for the oil pump drive sleeve. The baffle allows the manifold to fill with oil. The oil pump drive sleeve now operates in oil. This helps decrease wear of the sleeve.
A new oil pump drive sleeve is also in use. The new sleeve is easier to install. The new sleeve does not need to be drilled and reamed at installation. Use a new dowel if a new sleeve is installed.
Adaptable As: The new parts when used together are direct replacements for the former parts as shown in the chart. These changes are in effect on 7231 Marine Transmissions (39E547) and 7241 Marine Transmissions (17W795). The changes are adaptable to all earlier 7231 and 7241 Marine Transmissions.
