Usage:
3408 (78Z) Generator Set Engines
Description of Change: A new crankshaft, cylinder block and camshaft are used in the above engines. The new crankshaft is a new design that has thicker webs between the outer main journals and the outer rod journals. The thicker webs help reduce engine vibration and increase the service life of driven equipment.
Because of the change to the crankshaft, there is also a change to the cylinder block and camshaft.
Adaptable To: The new 1W5009 Crankshaft, 1W5084 Cylinder Block Assembly and 2W7980 Camshaft, when used together, are direct replacements for the former parts. The new camshaft can be used with new or former cylinder blocks and crankshafts.
The new parts are in effect with 78Z1149 on 3408 Generator Set Engines.
