Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove electronic control module (engine).

1. Remove two bolts (1), two bolts (3), and guard assembly (2).

2. Install Tooling (A).

3. Remove 12 bolts (4) from vibration damper (5).

4. Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device onto vibration damper (1). Refer to Tool Operating Manual, "NEHS1176". The weight of vibration damper (5) is approximately 180 kg (397 lb).

5. Slide vibration damper (5) to the end of Tooling (A). Remove vibration damper (5).

6. Use two people to remove adapter (6). Adapter (6) weighs approximately 25 kg (55 lb).

2. Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device onto vibration damper (1). Refer to Tool Operating Manual, "NEHS1176". The weight of vibration damper (5) is approximately 180 kg (397 lb). Install Tooling (A). Position vibration damper (5) onto Tooling (A). Slide vibration damper (5) on Tooling (A). Remove the suitable lifting device.

3. Position vibration damper (5). Apply Tooling (C) under the head of bolts and on the threads. Install bolts (4) and the washers.

4. Tighten bolts (4) in the sequence shown to a torque of 800 ± 100 N·m (590 ± 74 lb ft).

5. Position guard assembly (2) and install two bolts (3) and two bolts (1).

1. Install electronic control module (engine).
