Housing Assembly Now Has Sleeve To Prevent Housing Damage

Usage:

7241 Marine Transmissions

Description of Change: A wear sleeve has been added to the housing component groups on 7241 Marine Transmissions. This wear sleeve was added to prevent wear in the top shaft bore in the housing assembly. Formerly, if the bore was damaged, it was necessary to increase the bore diameter so a bushing could be installed. In extreme conditions, replacement of the housing assembly was necessary.

The new sleeve is held in place by a dowel, a new cap and two new bolts.

A new housing group is available as a service replacement for the earlier housing assemblies. This new housing group has the new sleeve, dowel and bearing cap.

Adaptable As: The new 3T9227 Sleeve, 2H2255 Dowel, 3T9226 Cap, 1D4556 Bolts and 5P8244 Washers are in effect on 7241 Marine Transmissions (39E524).

For service, the new 6T1738 Housing Group is a direct replacement for the former 3N8021 Housing Assembly.

See the illustration for the location of the new parts.
