如果发动机几周不起动，润滑油将从缸壁和活塞环中流出。 在缸套表面可能形成锈斑，这将增加发动机的磨损，降低发动机使用寿命。
为防止发动机过度磨损，遵守下列准则：
- 完成在本操作和保养手册保养, "周期表"（保养部分）中列出的全部润滑建议。
- 如果预计发动机会在冰冻温度下运转，检查冷却系统是否有足够的防冻保护。 请参阅本操作和维护手册, "加注容量和建议"（保养部分）。
如果发动机不运转，或者没有计划使用发动机，应采取特殊的预防措施。 如果发动机将贮存一个月以上，建议制订一个完整的防护步骤。
