Note: All high-pressure fuel line connections to be closed with protective caps from Tooling (A)

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.



NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.


  1. Turn the fuel supply to the OFF position.

  2. Disconnect tube assembly (1).

  3. Remove elbow assembly (4). Disconnect tube assembly (6).

  4. Remove bolts (2), bolt (3), and fuel manifold (5).

  5. Remove check valve (7) and fuel sampling valve (8).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install fuel manifold (5) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Lubricate the seals of check valve (7) with the lubricant that is being sealed.
