Aftercooler - Remove and Install - Low-Pressure

Usage:

C12.9 PC7

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedure.

  2. Remove bolt (8) to allow any residual coolant to drain. Remove clamp (7) and hose (9). Remove bolts (6) and bolts (5). Disconnect nut (3). Remove clamp (2) and tube assembly (4). Remove clamp (1).

  3. Remove bolts (10) and bolt (11). Support aftercooler (13) and remove bolts (12). Remove aftercooler (13).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install aftercooler (13) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Tighten bolts (12) to a torque of 45 ± 4 N·m (33 ± 3 lb ft).

    2. Tighten bolt (11) to a torque of 45 ± 4 N·m (33 ± 3 lb ft).

    3. Tighten bolts (10) to a torque of 65 ± 10 N·m (48 ± 7 lb ft).

    4. Tighten bolt (8) to a torque of 18 ± 3 N·m (159 ± 27 lb in).

    5. Tighten bolts (6) to a torque of 23 ± 2 N·m (204 ± 18 lb in).

    6. Tighten bolts (5) to a torque of 23 ± 2 N·m (204 ± 18 lb in).

    7. Tighten nut (3) to a torque of 80 ± 8 N·m (59 ± 6 lb ft).

    8. Tighten clamp (2) to a torque of 3.25 ± 0.25 N·m (29 ± 2 lb in).

    9. Tighten clamp (1) to a torque of 3.25 ± 0.25 N·m (29 ± 2 lb in).
