Engine Oil Pan - Remove and Install

  1. Drain the engine oil. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

  2. Remove the O-ring seal from the drain plugs.

  3. The weight of oil pan assembly (2) is approximately 46 kg (101 lb).

  4. Remove bolts (1) and use a suitable lifting device to remove oil pan (2).

  5. Remove bolts (4) and plate (3).

  6. Remove gasket (5) from the oil pan.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install a new gasket (5).

  2. Install plate (3) and bolts (4).

  3. Apply Tooling (A) to locations shown in Illustration 6.

  4. The weight of oil pan assembly (2) is approximately 46 kg (101 lb).

  5. Use a suitable lifting device to install oil pan (2) and bolts (1).

    Torque sequences for bolts (1).

  6. Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 40 ± 5 N·m (30 ± 4 lb ft) according to Sequence (A) in Illustration 8.

  7. Retighten bolts (1) to a torque of 47 ± 5 N·m (35 ± 4 lb ft) according to Sequence (B) in Illustration 8.

  8. Fill the engine oil. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.
