Installation Procedure for WasteGate Lines on Certain G3516B Engines {1052, 1380} Caterpillar

Do not perform any procedure in this Special Instruction until you have read the information and you understand the information.

Required Parts

Removal Procedure

1. The following components and associated hardware will be set aside for reuse during the installation of the new lines:

   • 353-7956 Grommet

   • 4P-7233 Grommet

   • Two 2P-4437 Clamps

   • 0S-1591 Bolt

   • 5M-2894 Washers

   • 9S-8752 Nut

   • 272-1777 Spacer

2. Remove the 394-9753, 394-9928, and 395-0330 tube assemblies with associated parts as shown above.

(1) 150-7158 Connector

1. Install connector (1) on right hand side of wastegate with O-ring.

   (1) 150-7158 Connector (2) 450-9147 Hose As (3) 8C-7563 Elbow

2. Install hose assembly (2) to connector (1) and elbow (3) with two 6V-5138 O-Ring Seals at each end of the hose assembly.

3. Secure hose assembly (2) to aftercooler with spacers (4), washers (5), bolts (6), clips (7) (8), and grommets (9).

4. Install hose assembly (16) to elbow (11) and connector (17) with two 180-8424 O-Ring Seals at each end of the hose assembly.

5. Secure hose assembly (16) with washers (5) clips (7) and (8), nut (10), clip (12), bolt (13), support (14), and grommet (15).

6. Install hose assembly (28) to elbow 29 and connector (18).

7. Secure hose assembly (28) to hose assembly (16) with washers (5), nut (10), bolt (19), spacer (20), clamps (21), and grommets (22).

8. Secure hose assembly (28) to 396-0995 Bracket with washers (5), bolt (30), grommet (22), clip (23), and clip (24).

9. Secure hose assembly (28) to support assembly on top of aftercooler with grommets (22), clips (23), clips (24), bolts (25), washers (26), and washers (27).
