Crankshaft - Remove

Usage:

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the engine oil relief valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Relief Valve - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.

  2. Remove the crankshaft rear seal. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Crankshaft Rear Seal - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.

  3. Remove the engine oil pump and the suction pipe. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Pump - Remove" for the correct procedure.

  4. Remove the pistons and the connecting rods. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Pistons and Connecting Rods - Remove" for the correct procedure.


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.


  1. The engine should be mounted in a suitable stand with the rear end upward.

  2. Remove allen head bolts (1) from the cylinder block.

  3. Remove bolts (2) from the cylinder block.

  4. Attach a suitable lifting device (3) to crankshaft assembly (4).

  5. Carefully lift crankshaft assembly (4) from the cylinder block. If necessary, gently tap the nose of the crankshaft with a soft faced hammer.

    Note: Install the nut for the crankshaft pulley in order to protect the nose of the crankshaft. Do not scratch any of the finished surfaces on the crankshaft.
