Procedure to Properly Tighten the Nuts on the Solenoid Studs on Electronic Unit Injectors (EUI){1290, 1408, 1900}

Introduction

This special instruction provides the correct torque for the solenoid studs.

Torque Procedure


NOTICE

Incorrect torque applied to the solenoid studs may result in a broken or damaged stud. This damaged stud can leave the injector unusable or more susceptible to failure.

  1. Solenoid studs (1) can be damaged as shown in Illustration 1 when installing an injector.

  1. In order to prevent damage to solenoid studs (1), tighten the nuts on studs (1) to a torque of 2.2 to 2.6 N·m (19.5 to 23.0 lb in).
