New Sensor Routing on Certain 3412 and 3412C Engines {1408, 7451}

Engine News SEBD9898, 20 September 2013, "New Sensor Routing on Certain 3412 and 3412C Engines". Disregard the previous article, effectivity has been added.

Description of Change: The improved instrument panel group has relocated the coolant indicator. The wiring for the updated instrument panel has been rerouted the wiring away from the turbocharger.

Adaptable To: The improved 6N-5208 Instrument Panel Gp is adaptable back to first production of the serial numbers listed above.

The coolant indicator is now located on the front of the left-hand cylinder head. The former coolant indicator was located in the rear of the right-hand cylinder head. The new routing of the coolant indicator includes a new clip and grommet to be used. Cable ties are also used in order to secure the new wiring to the main engine harness. Refer to Illustrations 1 and 2 for the wiring change.
