Special Instruction, "Battery Charging Rate And Time Tables," Available On Oil Resistant Paper

Usage:

A new Special Instruction, SEHS9014, is available to simplify charging any Cat battery. It contains a rate table and a time table to give all the information needed to select the correct charging rate and time required to charge any Cat battery.

This form is printed on oil resistant paper. It is suitable to display in your battery charging area. Also, you may want to keep a copy at the parts counter. It can improve battery sales by reminding you that a 12 volt battery should read not less than 12.40 volts on a digital voltmeter. Any voltage below 12.40 means the battery needs charging. This applies to batteries being sold or tested.

The time needed to charge a battery depends on the open circuit voltage, which indicates the state of charge. This will be either two, three, or four hours, and found in the time table for various ranges of open circuit voltages.
