1 | 4 | 369-7181 Bolt As | Use the following procedure in order to tighten the connecting rod bolt: Do not use the connecting rod bolt assembly, if the dimension is more than 1. Before assembly, assure that the retainer and bolt head are free from Molylube. 2. Before applying thread lubricant, install the bolt into the retainer plate and rod. 3. After installation of bolt, lubricate the threads of the bolt, nut, and contact face of the nut with Bell - Ray Molylube 67700. 4. Turn all four nuts by hand until the nuts contact the face of the cap. No resistance should be felt that would indicate thread damage or debris in the joint. Threading the nut by hand provides an opportunity to identify problems with the threads. If the nuts and/or bolts cannot be threaded by hand, the nuts and/or bolts must be replaced. Do not use an impact wrench to install the nuts up to the face of the cap. 5. Tighten all four nuts (2) to 6. Tighten nut 1, 4, 2, and 3 in the sequence as shown in Illustration 3 to 7. Again, tighten nut 2, 3, 1, and 4 in the sequence as shown in Illustration 3 to 8. Again, tighten nut 1, 4, 2, and 3 in the sequence as shown in Illustration 3 to an angle of 180 ± 5 degrees. If, torque or turn tolerance are not met in any of the above step. Then, loosen all bolts (1) until zero reading is taken and apply torque again. In order to resue bolt (1), the zero reading should be less than |
