Specification for 351-1922 Cylinder Head Gp
Item  Qty  Part  Specification Description
Use any one of the following tightening procedure to tighten the bolts for the cylinder head:
Tighten bolt (27) through bolt (39) only after bolt (1) through bolt (26) have been given the final torque.
40  236-0484 Bolt  Use the following procedure in order to tighten the bolts for the cylinder head:
1. Before assembly, apply clean engine oil to the threads of the bolts.
2. Tighten bolt 1 through bolt 20 in the numerical sequence as shown in Illustration 2 to 270 ± 27 N·m (200 ± 20 lb ft).
3.Again, tighten bolt 1 through bolt 20 in the numerical sequence as shown in Illustration 2 to 450 ± 20 N·m (332 ± 15 lb ft).
4. Again, retighten bolt 1 through bolt 20 in the numerical sequence as shown in Illustration 2 to 450 ± 20 N·m (332 ± 15 lb ft).
5. Install the rocker arm group.
6. Tighten bolt 21 through bolt 26 in the numerical sequence as shown in Illustration 2 to 270 ± 27 N·m (200 ± 20 lb ft).
7. Again, tighten bolt 21 through bolt 26 in the numerical sequence as shown in Illustration 2 to 450 ± 20 N·m (332 ± 15 lb ft)
8. Again, retighten bolt 21 through bolt 26 in the numerical sequence as shown in Illustration 2 to 450 ± 20 N·m (332 ± 15 lb ft).
9. Tighten bolt 27 through bolt 39 in the numerical sequence as shown in Illustration 2 to 43 ± 7 N·m (32 ± 5 lb ft)
12 234-9558 Bolt
26  0L-1352 Bolt
Alternate tightening procedure to tighten the bolts for the cylinder head:
Use the following procedure in order to tighten the bolts for the cylinder head:
1. Before assembly, apply molybdenum paste to the threads of the (3/4) bolts.
2. Tighten bolt 1 through bolt 20 in the numerical sequence as shown in Illustration 2 to 270 ± 27 N·m (200 ± 20 lb ft).
3.Again, tighten bolt 1 through bolt 20 in the numerical sequence as shown in Illustration 2 to 390 ± 10 N·m (288 ± 7 lb ft).
4. Again, retighten bolt 1 through bolt 20 in the numerical sequence as shown in Illustration 2 to 390 ± 10 N·m (288 ± 7 lb ft).
5. Install the rocker arm group.
6. Tighten bolt 21 through bolt 26 in the numerical sequence as shown in Illustration 2 to 270 ± 27 N·m (200 ± 20 lb ft).
7. Again, tighten bolt 21 through bolt 26 in the numerical sequence as shown in Illustration 2 to 390 ± 10 N·m (288 ± 7 lb ft)
8. Again, retighten bolt 21 through bolt 26 in the numerical sequence as shown in Illustration 2 to 390 ± 10 N·m (288 ± 7 lb ft).
Before assembly, lubricate the threads of the (3/8) bolts with clean engine oil.
9. Tighten bolt 27 through bolt 39 in the numerical sequence as shown in Illustration 2 to 43 ± 7 N·m (32 ± 5 lb ft)
4N-0932 Cup Plug  Apply, Loctite 11358 sealant to the bores of the cup plugs.
