Crankcase Breather - Remove and Install

Removal Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Do not disconnect equipment unless power has been disconnected or the area is known to be non-hazardous.

Disconnecting equipment when the power is connected or when the area is hazardous may result in personal injury or death.

  1. Loosen hose clamp (2) and disconnect hose (1) from breather assembly (3).

  2. Loosen band clamp (4) and remove breather assembly (3) from the valve mechanism cover. Remove the O-ring seal.

Installation Procedure

  1. Coat the bore for the O-ring seal with clean engine oil prior to installation. Install the O-ring seal. Install breather assembly (3) and band clamp (4) on the valve mechanism cover. Tighten band clamp (4) to a torque of 4.5 ± 0.5 N·m (40 ± 4 lb in).

  2. Connect hose (1) to breather assembly (3) and tighten hose clamp (2).
