Flame Arrestor - Remove and Install

Usage:

C15 HAZ

Removal Procedure

------ WARNING! ------

Do not disconnect equipment unless power has been disconnected or the area is known to be non-hazardous.

Disconnecting equipment when the power is connected or when the area is hazardous may result in personal injury or death.

  1. Disconnect the tubing for the intake air system from flame arrestor (2).

  2. Remove bolts (1).

  3. Remove flame arrestor (2) and O-ring seal (3) from the air inlet elbow.

Installation Procedure

------ WARNING! ------

When replacement parts are required for this product, Caterpillar recommends using Cat replacement parts or parts with equivalent specifications including, but not limited to, physical dimensions, type, strength, and material.

Never reuse any clamps, seals, or gaskets in the flameproof intake or exhaust system. Always replace clamps, seals, and gaskets with new Cat parts which match the parts being replaced by the exact Cat part number.

Failure to heed this warning may lead to premature failures, product damage, personal injury, or death.

  1. Install O-ring seal (3) and flame arrestor (2) on the air inlet elbow.

  2. Install bolts (1). Tighten bolts (1) in a numerical sequence.

  3. Connect the tubing for the intake air system to flame arrestor (2).
