Procedure for Correctly Lifting Certain C32 Generator Set Enclosures{7002} Caterpillar

Generator Set:

C32 GEN SET (S/N: JSJ1-UP)

Introduction

Do not perform any procedure that is outlined in this Special Instruction until you have read and understand the information that is contained in this document.

Installing the Isolator

Follow the installation instructions below in the following situations:

• The final location of the enclosure is being set

• The unit is being operated prior to final installation

1. Loosen the isolator adjusting nut (2) the top of the adjusting bolt (1) .

2. Turn the adjusting bolt until the spring (6) starts to compress. Leave the adjusting nut at the top of the adjusting bolt.

3. Turn the adjusting bolts one full clockwise turn to adjust each isolator in sequence. Repeat this procedure on all of the isolators.

4. Periodically check the limit stop locknuts (5) to ensure that clearance between the washer (4) and the rubber grommet (3) is maintained. Stop the adjustment of an isolator only when the top plate has risen just above the blocks.

Note: Shipping blocks must be in place during transportation.

Note: Shipping blocks must be removed during the operation of the unit.

5. Remove all of the shipping blocks (7) .

6. Fine adjust the isolators in order to level the equipment.

7. Tighten nut to the base of the equipment.

Lifting Instructions

• Use the proper lifting and rigging method to lift the whole enclosure.

• The use of a spreader bar and 4-point lifting is required.

• Care must be taken to ensure that the enclosure is not crushed with using lifting devices.

• The enclosure package must be lifted separately with factory supplied fuel tanks.

(10) Drag hook (11) Shipping bracket

• Shipping brackets (11) are only used for transportation in an ISO container. The brackets can be removed after site installation.

• Drag hooks (10) are only used for removing the enclosure from the shipping container. Do not use the drag hooks to move the enclosure in any other manner.
