Steel Plates Are Now Used To Hold The Element In Position In The Panel-Type Air Cleaner Housing Assembly{1051,1054}

Usage:

3406, 3408 and 3412 Industrial and Marine Engines

Description of Change: Steel plates are now used in the housing assembly in panel-type air cleaners for the 3406, 3408 and 3412 Engines. Three plates are used to keep the air filter element in the correct position. Formerly, three rubber pads were used to keep the filter element in position. Heat and vibration some times caused these pads to move. This permitted the filter element to move out of position and let dirt get into the engine. The steel plates are fastened to the air cleaner housing with tack welds.

Adaptable As: Three 5D5678 Plates are a direct replacement for the three pieces of 5P0801 Seal Stock, when used in this application.

Dimensions to install three 5D5678 Plates in air cleaner housing assembly.
