NOTICE |
---|
Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
- Remove bolt (4) and exhaust manifold (3), if necessary.
- Remove bolts (5) and brackets (6) for both exhaust manifolds.
- Attach a suitable lifting device to exhaust manifold (2). For 3508 Engines, the weight of the exhaust manifold is approximately
50 kg (110 lb) . For 3512 Engines, the weight of the exhaust manifold is approximately55 kg (121 lb) . For 3516 Engines, the weight of the exhaust manifold is approximately85 kg (185 lb) . Remove bolts (1) and exhaust manifold (2). - Remove the exhaust manifold gaskets.
- Repeat Step 3 and Step 4 for exhaust manifold (7).

- Install exhaust manifold (7) and exhaust manifold (2) in the reverse order of removal.
- If the exhaust manifolds were disassembled, apply Tooling (A) to the threads and the bearing surfaces of the nuts and bolts during assembly. Tighten the bolts that are diagonal to each other to a torque of
55 ± 5 N·m (41 ± 4 lb ft) . Tighten the other bolts that are diagonal to each other to a torque of55 ± 5 N·m (41 ± 4 lb ft) . - Apply Tooling (A) to the threads and the bearing surfaces of the nuts and bolts (1) during assembly. Tighten the bolts that are diagonal to each other to a torque of
50 ± 5 N·m (37 ± 4 lb ft) . Tighten the other bolts that are diagonal to each other to a torque of50 ± 5 N·m (37 ± 4 lb ft) . - Apply Tooling (A) to the threads and the bearing surfaces of bolts (5) for both exhaust manifolds and bolt (4).
