Usage:
Description of Change: New seals (double-lip type) with Viton material are used on the pump shaft, in both the inner and outer position, of Vickers pumps which have steel backed bronze plates between the rotor and the end plates. The Viton seal material has more resistance to high temperatures than the Buna-N material formerly used.
Adaptable As: Direct replacement. The new seal with Viton material is brown in color. The former seal with Buna-N material is black in color. The new seal can be installed on all VQ and VHO Vickers pumps.
Using the color of the seal material as a guide for identification, it is possible that you will find some 3G2325 Seals of Buna-N material (black) and some of the new Viton material (brown). The 3G2325 Seal part number will be changed to 6V2318 Seal and all 6V2318 Seals will be made of the Viton material.
Location of seals.
Many Vickers pumps use two cartridges, i.e.; 4535V, 4520V, 3525V etc. To tell what size seals are needed on a double cartridge pump, use the larger "cartridge size" identification number on the side of the pump. See the chart which follows:
