(1) Cylinder head bolt

  1. Put clean engine oil on the threads of the bolts. Tighten the bolts in the order that is shown in illustration 2.

    Torque ... 30 ± 5 N·m (22 ± 4 lb ft)

  2. Tighten bolts 1 through 8 in the numbered sequence.

    Torque ... 400 ± 35 N·m (300 ± 26)

  3. Tighten bolts 1 through 8 in the numbered sequence.

    Torque ... 575 ± 20 N·m (420 ± 15 lb ft)

  4. Tighten bolts 9 and 10.

    Torque ... 55 ± 10 N·m (41 ± 7 lb ft)

(C) Depth of plug

Use 6V-6640 RTV Silicone Sealant in the plug bores prior to assembly.

Install two plugs in the top of the cylinder head to the following depth. ... 9.0 ± 0.5 mm (0.35 ± 0.02 inch)

(D) Height of new cylinder head ... 142.00 ± 0.15 mm (5.591 ± 0.006 inch)

(2) Plug

Use 6V-6640 RTV Silicone Sealant in the plug bores prior to assembly.

The remainder of the plugs are installed in the cylinder head below the bottom of the chamfer at the following depth. ... 1.0 ± 0.5 mm (0.04 ± 0.02 inch)
