The magnetic screen is fastened to the inlet port of the gear pump. Oil from the bottom of the transmission case flows through screen (2). Screen (2) filters the large foreign material as the oil flows through the screen. Then, the oil flows through tube assembly (3). The oil flows through the openings that are between magnets (4). The magnets are installed on the tube assembly so that the same magnetic ends are next to each other.

As the oil flows over the magnets, metal particles are stopped by the magnets. The oil then flows to outlet (5) and on to the gear pump. Then, oil is sent to the two transmission oil filters and continues to the transmission and torque converter hydraulic systems.
