  1. Inspect all parts for wear or damage. Make a replacement, if necessary.

  2. Lower the temperature of bearing (66) and sleeve (65) and install using tool (C).

  3. Install large snap ring (57).

  4. Install turbine (62) on turbine hub (59) and torque bolts to 120 ± 15 N·m (89 ± 11 lb ft).

  5. Install tooling (B) on housing (60) and fasten an appropriate lifting device. Lower housing (60) on turbine (62) and turbine hub (59). Use tool (C) to drive housing (60) to turbine hub (59).

  6. Install ring (64) on ring carrier (63).

  7. Install the ring and carrier (63).

  8. Install snap ring (58).

  9. If bearings (56) are worn or damaged, replace the bearings with new parts. Use tool (C) to install bearings (56) in the flange.

  10. Install bearings (56) in the flange with tool (C) and a press. Dimension (X) must be 9.00 mm (0.354 inch). Dimension (Y) must be 76.0 mm (2.992 inch).

  11. The inside diameter of bearings (56) must be 69.939 ± 0.044 mm (2.7535 ± 0.0017 inch) after assembly.

  12. Install ring (55) in position in the groove of the flange.

  13. Install the ring gear on flange assembly (50). Make sure that ring (55) is in alignment with the groove in the ring gear. Install the two pins that hold the ring in place.

  14. Install O-ring seal (53) on flange assembly (50).

  15. Support the center of flange (50) with wood blocks. Rotate housing (60) by 180 degrees. Lower housing (60) onto flange (50).

  16. Install spacer (52). Install snap ring (51). Use tool (A) on flange assembly (50).

  17. Install the bearing, the race, and retainer (49).

  18. Remove the center block and place on two wood blocks, as shown. Remove the hoist.

  19. Install the bearing, the retainer, and race (46) on carrier (36).

  20. Use tool (A). Install inner race (38) and snap ring (35).

  21. Lower the temperature of cam (45) and install cam (45) into the stator. Use tool (A). Install the retainer ring.

  22. Lower the temperature of plate (43) and install plate (43). Install retaining ring (42).

  23. Install stator (67) on carrier (36).

    Note:

  24. Install pins (41) and install springs (40). Install springs (40) and install pins (41). Install the springs into the deeper part of each groove.

  25. Lower the temperature of plate (39) and install plate (39) and snap ring (37).

  26. Heat bearing cone (48) and seal carrier (47) to a maximum temperature of 150 °C (302 °F) and install the cones. Align the hole in the seal carrier with the hole in carrier (36). Install the pin that holds the carriers in position with respect to each other.

  27. Install two guide bolts 1/2 inch - 13 NC in the hub. Install impeller (33) on the hub.

  29. Install sleeve (30) and remove the guide bolts.

  30. Install bolts (68) and torque to 120 ± 15 N·m (89 ± 11 lb ft).

  31. Put support (26) in position on the carrier. Make alignment of the holes in the carrier with the pins in the support. Install the bolts that hold the support to the carrier and torque to 120 ± 15 N·m (89 ± 11 lb ft). Install O-ring seals (24) on support (26).

  32. Install tooling (B) and fasten an appropriate lifting device. Position flange assembly (29) on housing (60) and torque bolts (28) to 50 ± 7 N·m (37± 5 lb ft).

  33. Fasten an appropriate lifting device and tooling (B) to case (23). Align the holes in the case with the holes in the support. Lower case (23) into position and install the bolts.

  34. Heat bearing race (21) to a maximum temperature of 135 °C (275 °F). Install the race on shaft (17) with the tapered end of the bearing toward the end of the shaft.

  35. Heat bearing (20) and seal carrier (19) to a maximum temperature of 135 °C (275 °F). Install the bearings on the shaft.

  36. Put seal ring (18) in position on the seal carrier.

  37. Put shaft assembly (17) in position in the torque divider.

  38. Install the lip type seal in cover (16) with tooling (C). The lip of the seal must be positioned, as shown.

  39. Put O-ring seals (14) and (15) in position on the cover.

  40. Put cover (13) in position on the support. Install bolts (12). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 50 ± 3 N·m (37 ± 2 lb ft).

  41. Put yoke (11) in position in the torque divider.

  42. Put O-ring seal (66) in position in the yoke.

  43. Install retainer (10) and the bolt. Tighten the bolt to a torque of 220 ± 15 N·m (162 ± 11 lb ft).

  44. Put bearings (8) in position in gears (5).

  45. Put gears (5) in position in the planetary carrier with washers (6) and (7) on each side.

  46. Put shaft (9) in position. Align the holes in the shafts with the holes in the carrier. Install the pin that holds the shaft in position.

  47. Install spiral ring (3) in position in the carrier.

  48. Put spacer (4) in position in the carrier.

  49. Install planetary carrier (2) on the shaft. Align the splines on the shaft with the splines in the carrier.

  50. Install spiral ring (1) on the shaft with tool (A).

End By:

  1. Install the torque divider. See Disassembly and Assembly, "Torque Divider - Install".
