Assembly Procedure

1. Install O-ring seal (14) on piston (13).

2. Place piston (13) on suitable cribbing. Use two people to install piston assembly (8).

3. Install springs (12) into piston assembly (8).

4. Install springs (17) and springs (18). Install O-ring seals (15) and O-ring seal (16).

5. Install O-ring seals (11) and nuts (10) onto piston assembly (8)

6. Attach Tooling (A) and suitable lifting device to piston assembly (8). The weight of piston assembly (8) is approximately 68 kg (150 lb). Install piston assembly (8).

   1. Apply Tooling (D) to nuts (10). Install nuts (10).

   2. Tighten nuts (10) in a crisscross pattern to a torque of 270 N·m (200 lb ft).

7. Install Tooling (C). Using Tooling (C), apply hydraulic pressure to retract piston assembly (8).

8. Install Tooling (B). Install buffer plate (6) with the buffer side down. Install disk and plates.

   Note: Tooling (B) will align the discs (5) in the housing.

   Note: Use clean hydraulic oil to lubricate discs and plates.

9. Attach Tooling (A) and suitable lifting device to plate (2). The weight of plate (2) is approximately 41 kg (90 lb).

10. Install \nuts (3). Tighten nuts (3) in a crisscross pattern to a torque of 65 ± 10 N·m (48 lb ft). Insure the piston housing is seated against the anchor. Tighten nuts (3). Install bolts (1).

11. Remove Tooling (A), Tooling (B), and Tooling (C).

1. Install the wheel and brake.
