Description Of Change: The new NRS cooler assembly has improved coolant flow to resist thermal fatigue.
Adaptable To: The new 436-9149 Cooler As replaces the existing 436-9150 Cooler As. The new cooler assembly is adaptable back to first production on the serial numbers listed above.
Refer to Table 1 for a list of part numbers needed to install the new NRS cooler.

Note: A new 324-9290 Bellows As and two new 9N-5085 Clamp will be installed on the exhaust inlet side of the NRS cooler. A new 9N-5085 Clamp will be installed on the exhaust outlet side of the NRS cooler.
Refer to Special Instruction, REHS7798, "Procedure for Removing and Installing the Exhaust Cooler (NRS) on All Tier 4 C15 and C18 Engines" for additional information.
Note: A new 324-9290 Bellows As and two new 9N-5085 Clamp will be installed on the exhaust inlet side of the NRS cooler. A new 9N-5085 Clamp will be installed on the exhaust outlet side of the NRS cooler.
When refilling the engine coolant, be sure to get all the air out of the system to protect the NRS Cooler. The preferred coolant refill method is to vacuum fill. If the vacuum fill method is not an option, run engine at idle without pressure cap installed not allowing the system to pressurize.
Note: Make sure that the pressure cap is reinstalled after air has purged out. Do not run engine this way for an extended amount of time.
