The Importance Of The Disconnect Switch In Regard To Fire Suppression Systems With Automatic Actuation{7401}

Usage:

The Caterpillar Fire Suppression System with automatic actuation can be either electronically (automatic mode) or manually actuated. However, the automatic mode will operate only when the disconnect switch is turned on. Even with the ignition key off and the machine parked, the system will continue to monitor machine temperatures and activate if a fire is detected, as long as the disconnect switch is on.

When servicing the fire suppression system on the machine, always remember to turn the disconnect switch off. This will assure that the system will not actuate by the automatic mode. Also, all tamper seals and lock pins should be in place in the nitrogen actuators. This will prevent accidental actuation by the manual mode.
