A New Installation Procedure for the Communication Radio Group Is Now Available for Certain 621K, 623K, 627K, 631K, and 637K Wheel Tractor-Scrapers {733T, 7606}

A change has been made to Service Magazine, SEPD1892, 24, November 2014, "New Installation Procedure for Communication Radio Group Is Now Available for Certain Series 621K, Series 623K, and Series 627K Wheel Tractor-Scrapers". Additional prefix's have been added.

Description Of Change: A new Installation procedure for the communication radio group is now available for the machines listed above.

Use the following procedure to install the communication radio group in the cab group.

  1. Install communication radio (B) on holes (A) that are already available in the headliner as shown in Illustration 1 and Illustration 2.

  2. Secure communication radio with backer plate (C) using screws and washers. The backer plate (C) is factory installed in the headliner.

  3. Tie harness assembly (D) to back of the entertainment plate as shown In Illustration 4.

  4. Remove and reinstall trim panel (E) and HVAC ducts (F) to mount power converter.

  5. Install power converter (1) for the communication radio by tightening screws (2) on the back wall next to the ECMs behind the seat as shown in Illustration 8.

  6. Follow the existing harness routing up to the radio and ensure that all connections are properly grounded.

  7. Route antenna cable (G) through the headliner to the front top right corner of the cab as shown in Illustration 9.

  8. Drill a hole for antenna (H) in the front plate next to the entertainment radio. The hole should be at least 15 mm (0.6 inch) horizontally from the existing antenna hole and not larger than 15 mm (0.6 inch) in diameter.
