ES12F CZE

UPS Extended Storage Requirements

Operating Temperatures

  • Operating range : 0.0 °C (32.0 °F) to 40.0 °C (104.0 °F)

Outside Storage

The UPS should not be stored outside for any amount of time.

Short Term Storage Conditions

  • Temperature range for short-term storage : −25.0 °C (−13.0 °F) to 70.0 °C (158.0 °F), humidity 5 percent to 95 percent non-condensing.

These conditions cover the time when the equipment is in transit from the factory to the dealer or from the dealer to the customer site. The total amount of time the UPS should be stored under these conditions is 2 months.

Long Term Storage Conditions

  • Temperature range for long-term storage : 0.0 °C (32.0 °F) to 40.0 °C (104.0 °F), humidity 5 percent to 75 percent non-condensing. The UPS can be stored under these conditions for up to 1 year without any additional concerns. If the UPS is to be stored for longer than 1 year, the procedures listed under "Extended Storage Conditions" should be performed. Records of these steps must be maintained to insure warranty coverage.

Extended Storage Conditions

The following is required annually.

  • A thorough visual inspection of the system should be made to inspect for any components that might be adversely affected due to the storage environment.

  • Change the oil in the vacuum pump. Run the vacuum pump for a minimum of 4 hours in order to lubricate the internal seals. This procedure will ensure that the vacuum pump is functioning properly. The oil is critical to vacuum pump performance. Used or contaminated oil could result in more time waiting for vacuum at start-up, or the inability to reach the required levels of vacuum to run the flywheel.

Note: The pump is internally configured for 240 V operation. To operate the vacuum pump prior to energizing the UPS, temporarily disconnect the 240 V internal wiring to the receptacle plug. The receptacle plug is on the right side of the pump. Connect a 240 V line cord from an external source. Ensure that you have removed the external 240 V source, and reconnected the internal 240 V wiring to the vacuum pump receptacle prior to energizing the input terminal of the UPS. Reconfiguring the vacuum pump for 120 V operation will void the warranty of the pump.

Note: The UPS Vacuum Pump has a tamper-proof label. This label prohibits the service technician from reconfiguring the pump and utilizing a 120 V source to begin the vacuum draw process on the flywheel during the commissioning procedure. A corrupt tamper-proof label will void any warranty claim associated with the vacuum pump.
