Fuel Injection Control Linkage - Remove
Removal Procedure
Start By:
- Remove the rocker shaft and the pushrods. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Rocker Shaft and Pushrod - Remove".
- Remove the camshaft drive gears. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Camshaft Drive Gear - Remove".

- Remove the camshaft inspection covers from each side of the engine.
Note: Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "General Information (Reference Material)" for more information.
- Remove bolt (1) and cap (2). Move lever (3) away from the control shaft.

- Remove bolt (4) .
- Remove rod assembly (5) and lever (3) as a unit.
- Remove lever (3) from rod assembly (5) .
- Remove the bolts and plate assembly (7) from rocker arm support (6) .

- Remove lever (8) from plate assembly (7) .
- Remove rod assembly (9) from the fuel control shaft.

- Remove flange (14) from the rear of the cylinder block.

- Remove the nut, the washers, and bolts (11) that connect shaft assemblies (12) and (13) together.
- Move shaft assembly (12) away from bracket (10) .
- Remove shaft assembly (12) through the opening in the rear of the engine.
- Remove the bolts and bracket (10) .
- Remove shaft assembly (13) through the opening in the rear of the engine.
