Description of Change: There have been improvements to the routing of the chassis harness on 973D Track-Type Loaders with the Steel Mill Configuration. The heat protection of the harness has also been improved by assembling the current heat protection around the harness.
Adaptable To: The change of the routing to 328-2745 Chassis Harness As is effective with the following machine: 973D (S/N: LCP195,203,219,234,236,238,242,244,249-UP).
The change to the routing of the 328-2745 Chassis Harness As is adaptable to the following machines using the rework procedure below: 973D (S/N: LCP103,105,110,114,118,130,135-136,140,142,145,148,161,164,166,172,174,176,178,180,184,189,199,211,215,222-223,225-226,228,230,232,240,246,248).

Rework Procedure
- Open the bottom access panels in order to gain access to the chassis harness.
- Weld two brackets (1) as show in Illustration 2.

- Assemble ladder clips (3) to brackets (1) using a washer (4) and a bolt (5) for each ladder clip (3) .

- Split the current heat protection located under the harness and install the heat protection all around the harness. Attach the heat protection with ten high temperature straps (2)

- Move the harness on top of clips (3). Attach the harness to ladder clips (3) using straps (2) .
- Install the bottom access panels.
