Temperature Sensor (DPF) - Remove and Install

Start By:
- Remove the air cleaner.

Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool. |
- Cut cable straps (5) from harness assembly (2) .
Note: Ensure that all cable straps are removed for the harness assembly.

- Slide locking tab (3) into the unlocked position. Disconnect harness assembly (4) from harness assembly (2) .
- Make temporary marks on temperature sensor (1) for installation purpose. Remove the temperature sensor from the inlet section of the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF).
- Remove harness assembly (2) for the temperature sensor from the bracket for the clean emission module.
Installation Procedure
- Install temperature sensor (1) in the reverse order of removal.
- Use Tooling (A) in order to lubricate the threads of temperature sensor (1) .
- Install temperature sensor (1) to the inlet section of the DPF. Tighten temperature sensor (1) to a torque of 45 N·m (33 lb ft).
Note: Ensure correct positioning of the temperature sensor.
- Install new cable straps (5) to harness assembly (2) .
Note: Ensure that cable straps meet the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specification.
