854K Wheel Dozer Electrohydraulic System Caterpillar

Lift Double Stall Speed with Stall Detection (Electronic Technician) - Check

Usage:

854K H8M

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury or death can result from escaping fluid under pressure.

Escaping fluid under pressure, even a very small pin-hole size leak, can penetrate body tissue, causing serious injury, and possible death.

Always use a board or cardboard when checking for a leak.

Do not check for pin hole leaks in pump or motor hoses during a steer stall condition.

If fluid is injected into your skin, it must be treated by a doctor familiar with this type of injury immediately.

----------------------

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury or death can result from sudden machine movement.

Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause injury to persons on or near the machine.

To help prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the hydraulic and steering system:

----------------------

  1. Move the machine to a hard, level surface that is free of debris.

  1. Permit only one operator on the machine. Keep all other personnel away from the machine.

  1. Connect Caterpillar ET to the machine. The ET connector is located on the control panel on the right side of the cab.

  1. Turn the engine start switch to the ON position.

  1. Open the ET software program.

  1. When ET has started, start the engine. Run the engine at high idle. Warm the hydraulic oil to normal operating temperature.

  1. Follow the steps on the screen in order to move through the test as delisted bellow.

  1. Disengage the hydraulic lockout switch.

  1. Disengage the steering and transmission lock lever.

  1. Warm the transmission to a temperature between 50° C (122° F) and 55° C (131° F). Press the "NEXT" button if the transmission oil temperature is already to temperature.

  1. Move the direction lever to the NEUTRAL position.

  1. Engage the parking brake.

  1. Warm the hydraulic oil temperature to between 50° C (122° F) and 55° C (131° F). Press the "NEXT" button if the transmission oil temperature is already to temperature.

  1. Slowly raise the linkage to the maximum height. Then press the "NEXT" button.

  1. Fully depress the pedal for the brake. Then press the "OK" button. Hold the pedal in this position for the remainder of the test.

  1. Shift the transmission into third gear forward.

  1. Slowly increase engine speed to high idle.

  1. Move the lift lever to the full raised position and hold.

  1. Note the engine speed when the engine speed has stabilized.

    1. Allow the engine speed to stabilize. Verify double stall speed. The double stall speed should be 1530 ± 50.

    1. Shift the transmission to "NEUTRAL" in order to exit the service mode.
