Removal Procedure

1. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Note: Disconnect the negative cable assembly first.

2. Disconnect cable assemblies (4) from batteries (5) .

3. Remove locknuts (1), the washers, and battery hold downs (3) .

4. Use two people to remove batteries (5). The weight of each battery (5) is approximately 27 kg (60 lb).

5. Remove studs (2) .

Installation Procedure

Note: Connect the positive cable assembly first.

1. Install batteries (5) in the reverse order of removal.

   1. Tighten cable assemblies (4) to a torque of 7 ± 2 N·m (62 ± 18 lb in).

   2. Tighten locknuts (1) to a torque of 16 ± 2 N·m (142 ± 18 lb in).
