Note: The axial end play must be adjusted if the swashplate, the swashplate bearings, the shaft, the shaft bearings, the head, or the housing has been replaced. The axial end play required is between 0.01 mm (0.00039 inch) and −0.10 mm (−0.00394 inch).

  1. Use Tooling (B) in order to install lip seal (64) in housing (26). The sealing lip must face inward. Lubricate the sealing lip lightly with hydraulic oil before installation. Install retaining rings (63) into housing (26).

  2. Install lip seal (62) in housing (26). The sealing lip must face outward. Lubricate the sealing lip lightly with hydraulic oil before installation.

  3. Lower the temperature of bearing cup (68). Use Tooling (B) in order to install bearing cup (68) in housing (26). Install bearing cup (68) until the bearing cup is seated.

  4. Install bearing (65) and bearing (66) into housing (26). Install set screws (67).

  5. Install bearing cone (61) into housing (26).

  6. Place housing (26) onto support blocks in order to allow space for installation of shaft (36). Install shaft (36) into housing (26).

  7. Install swashplate (46) into housing (26).

  8. Install plug (50) and the O-ring seal into housing (26). Tighten plug (50) to a torque of 102 ± 4 N·m (75 ± 3 lb ft).

  9. Install spacer (58), spring (59), and spacer (60) into barrel (55).

  10. Use Tooling (B) and use a suitable press in order to compress spring (59).

  11. Install retaining ring (57) into barrel (55).

  12. Install pistons (54) into the original locations in spacer (56) and barrel (55). For best results, place the barrel in an upright position. Insert the pistons into spacer (56). Lift the pistons by using spacer (56) and insert pistons (54) into barrel (55).

  13. Position housing (26) horizontally. Install rotating group (51) and install shim kit (52) onto shaft (53).

  14. Install bearing cone (42) onto shaft (53).

  15. Position two spacers (47) and two locking plates (48) to the original positions on swashplate (46).

  16. Apply Tooling (F) onto bolts (49). Install four bolts (49) in order to hold plates (48) and spacers (45) to swashplate (46). Tighten bolts (49) to a torque of 34 ± 3 N·m (25 ± 2 lb ft).

  17. Lower the temperature of bearing cup (40). Use Tooling (B) in order to install bearing cup (40) in head (31). Install bearing cup (40) until the bearing cup is seated.

  18. Apply Tooling (F) to piston rod (34) and to piston rod (37).

  19. Install piston rod (34) and piston rod (37) in head (31). Tighten piston rod (34) and tighten piston rod (37) to a torque of 79 ± 4 N·m (58 ± 3 lb ft).

  20. Install pin (39) in head (31).

  21. Install spring (35), piston (36) onto piston rod (34), and piston (38) onto head (31).

  22. Install piston (38) onto piston rod (37)

  23. Apply Tooling (G) onto plate (43) in order to hold plate (43) to head (31) during assembly.

  24. Position head (31) and the gasket (45) onto housing (26).

  25. Install bolts (33) into head (31). Tighten bolts (33) to a torque of 91 ± 4 N·m (67 ± 3 lb ft).

  26. Install plug (30) and the O-ring seal into head (31). Tighten plug (30) to a torque of 13.0 ± 0.1 N·m (114 ± 1 lb in).

  27. Install O-ring seal (29), cover (28), and bolts (27) onto housing (26). Tighten bolts (27) to a torque of 8.5 ± 1.0 N·m (75 ± 9 lb in).

  28. Install spool (25), guide (24), spring (23), and guide (22) into valve (2).

  29. Install spool (21), guide (20), pin (19), spring (28), and guide (27) into valve (2).

  30. Install O-ring seal (16) onto plug (15).

  31. Install plug (15) into valve (2).

  32. Install O-ring seal (14) onto plug (13).

  33. Install plug (13) into valve (2).

  34. Install O-ring seal (12) onto plug (11).

  35. Install plug (11) into valve (2).

  36. Install O-ring seal (10) onto plug (9).

  37. Install plug (9) into valve (2).

  38. Install O-ring seal (8) onto plug (7).

  39. Install plug (7) into valve (2).

  40. Install needle valve (6), ring (5), and O-ring seal (4) into valve (2).

  41. Install plug (3) into valve (2).

  42. Install valve group (2) and bolts (1) to the piston pump.

End By:

  1. Install the piston pump.
