New Differential Gear Group Used On 993K Wheel Loader{3254, 3256, 3258}

Usage:

993K Z9K
Wheel Loader:
993K (S/N: LWA429-UP; Z9K1-452)

Introduction

This technical information bulletin addresses bearing failures within the 242-8673 Differential and Bevel Gear Gp on the 993K Wheel Loader.

Problem

There are reports of the 9M-2744 Bearing Cone failing within the 242-8673 Differential and Bevel Gear Gp . Overload and misalignment of the bearing can cause carrier deflection.

Solution

The current 242-8673 Differential and Bevel Gear Gp and can be replaced with the 367-9408 Differential and Bevel Gear Gp . The current gear group can be updated to the new gear group by using the parts listed below in this document. The bolts and washers are included in the parts list to reassemble existing bevel gear to differential case.

Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, KENR5817, "993K Wheel Loader Power Train ", "Differential and Bevel Gear - Remove and Install" for installation and removal procedures for the differential and bevel gears.
