Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
Note: Check the O-ring seals, the gaskets, and the seals for wear or for damage. Replace the components, if necessary.

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Use two people in order to position turbocharger (12) .

- Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of bolt (10) . Install bolt (10) .
- Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of the studs. Install nuts (11) . Tighten nuts (11) to a torque of 70 ± 5 N·m (52 ± 3 lb ft).
Note: Discard the nuts after use. Use new nuts for installation.
- Connect tube assembly (8) . Connect tube assembly (7) . Install duct (9) .

The ends of the bellows are very sharp. Injury could occur if the bellows are not handled properly. Handle the bellows by the convolutions. |
Note: Refer to Special Instruction, REHS1728, "Application Guideline for the Bellows" for additional information on handling the bellows.
- Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of clamp (6) and connect clamp (6) . Tighten clamp (6) to a torque of 9 ± 2 N·m (80 ± 18 lb in).
- Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of clamp (5) and connect clamp (5) . Tighten clamp (5) to a torque of 9 ± 2 N·m (80 ± 18 lb in).
- Install duct (4) and the bellows.

- Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of clamp (3) and connect clamp (3) . Tighten clamp (3) to a torque of 9 ± 2 N·m (80 ± 18 lb in).
- Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of clamp (2) and connect clamp (2) . Tighten clamp (2) to a torque of 9 ± 2 N·m (80 ± 18 lb in).
- Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of clamp (1) and connect clamp (1) . Tighten clamp (1) to a torque of 9 ± 2 N·m (80 ± 18 lb in).
End By: Install the clean gas induction valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Clean Gas Induction Valve - Install".
