DC Bus Connection States

The DC Bus Disconnect Switch Handle (1) is located on the front of the flywheel cabinet behind the left front door. The DC Bus Disconnect Switch (3) is used to disconnect the DC voltage from the Inverter cabinet to the components in the flywheel cabinet.

The handle is attached to an extension bar (2) at the DC Disconnect Switch (3) on the back of the flywheel cabinet.

Removal Procedure

Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, RENR7654, "Internal Component Preremoval Steps (Flywheel Cabinet)" in order to shut down the system and gain access to internal components.

Note: The handle must be in the Off position before the handle can be removed.

  1. Remove the metal shield in the upper right and move the hinged APC panel in order to gain access to the rear of the middle metal panel.

  1. Disconnect the wiring harness for the three lights that are located to the right of the handle.

  1. Remove the metal shield in the middle in order to gain access to the rear of the handle.

  1. Remove the two screws that hold the handle to the middle shield.

Installation Procedure

  1. Attach the handle to the metal shield with the two screws.

  1. Verify that the handle is in the Off position.

  1. Install the metal shield that holds the handle. Insert the handle on the DC Bus Switch Extension Bar. Secure the metal shield in place.

  1. Connect the wire harness to the three lights that are located to the right of the handle.

  1. Install the swing-out panel on top. Install the metal shield that is located in the upper right.
