(A) The camshaft lobe lift

To find the lobe lift, use the following procedure:

1. Measure the camshaft lobe height (B) that is the maximum distance from the base diameter of the camshaft lobe.

2. Measure the base circle (C).

3. Subtract the base circle measurement in Step 2 from the camshaft lobe height in Step 1. The difference is the actual lobe lift (A).

4. Specified camshaft lobe lift (A)

   Exhaust lobe ... 9.417 mm (0.3707 inch)

   Injector lobe ... 14.285 mm (0.5624 inch)

   Inlet lobe ... 12.607 mm (0.4963 inch)

The maximum permissible difference between the actual lobe lift in Step 3 and the specified lobe lift in Step 4 is 0.13 mm (0.005 inch).
