Hydraulic Oil Filter Bypass (1) (Amber) - The alert indicator will light when the hydraulic oil has bypassed the hydraulic oil filter. If this alert indicator comes on, stop the machine immediately. Engage the parking brake and stop the engine. Investigate the cause. Do not operate the machine until the fault has been corrected.

Starting Aid (2) (Red) - Starting aid is active. This function is controlled automatically. The indicator should go off after the engine is warmed up.

Hydraulic Oil Temperature (3) (Red) - The alert indicator will light when there is excessive hydraulic oil temperature. If this alert indicator comes on, move the machine to a convenient location. Investigate the cause. Do not operate the machine until the fault has been corrected.

Engine shutdown (4) (Red) - If the lamp comes on, service the engine. If the lamp comes on and an action alarm comes on, stop the machine immediately.

Brake Oil Pressure (5) (Red) - The alert indicator will light when the brake oil pressure is low. If this alert indicator comes on, stop the machine immediately. Engage the parking brake and stop the engine. Investigate the cause. Do not operate the machine until the fault has been corrected.

Engine Warning (6) (Red) - Malfunction in a machine system.

Hazard (7) - The alert indicator will flash and the turn signals will flash when the hazard flashers are activated.

Left Turn Signal (8) - The alert indicator will flash when the left turn signal is activated.

Forward (9) - If the machine is equipped with a direction control switch, the alert indicator will light when the direction control lever is in the FORWARD position. If the machine is not equipped with a direction control switch, the alert indicator will not light when you are using the direction control lever. The indicator will light when the direction control switch (if equipped) is in the FORWARD position.

Neutral (10) - If the machine is equipped with a direction control switch, the alert indicator will light when the direction control lever is in the NEUTRAL position. If the machine is not equipped with a direction control switch, the alert indicator will not light when you are using the direction control lever. The indicator will light when the direction control switch (if equipped) is in the NEUTRAL position.

Reverse (11) - If the machine is equipped with a direction control switch, the alert indicator will light when the direction control lever is in the REVERSE position. If the machine is not equipped with a direction control switch, the alert indicator will not light when you are using the direction control lever. The indicator will light when the direction control switch (if equipped) is in the REVERSE position.

Right Turn Signal (12) - The alert indicator will flash when the right turn signal is activated.

High Beam (13) - The alert indicator will light when the high beams of the headlights are activated.

Primary Steering (14) - The alert indicator will light when the primary steering flow is not functioning. When you turn the engine start switch key to the ON position, the alert indicator for the primary steering will come on for 3 seconds. Then, the alert indicator will go off. If the alert indicator for the primary steering does not come on, investigate the cause and correct the cause.

Electrical System (15) - The alert indicator will light when there is a malfunction in the electrical system. If this alert indicator comes on, the system voltage is too high for normal machine operation or too low for normal machine operation.

Secondary Steering (16) - The alert indicator will light when the electrical secondary steering motor is active.

Use the secondary steering to steer the machine when the primary steering is not functioning. Use the secondary steering to steer the machine when the alert indicator for the primary steering comes on and you have performed the following procedure.

Turn the engine start switch key to the ON position. The alert indicator for the secondary steering will come on for 3 seconds. Then, the alert indicator will go off. If the alert indicator for the secondary steering does not come on, investigate the cause.

Do not operate the machine until the cause has been corrected.

If electrical loads (air conditioning and/or lighting) are high and the engine speed is near idle, increase the engine speed to high idle. This action will generate more output from the alternator. If the alert indicator for the electrical system turns off within 1 minute, the electrical system is probably operating in a normal manner. However, the electrical system may be overloaded during periods of low engine speeds.

Modify the operating cycle in order to prevent overloading the electrical system and discharging the batteries.

Low idle must be set correctly. Adjust for the high side of the Low Idle specification while the most often used electrical loads are turned on. In order to reduce the loads, use the Medium fan speed instead of the High fan speed.

If this procedure does not cause the alert indicator to turn off, move to a convenient location. Investigate the cause.

If the engine speed is near operating speeds and if the electrical loads are light, the alert indicator may remain on. If the alert indicator remains on, move to a convenient location. Investigate the cause.

Parking Brake (17) - The alert indicator will light when the parking brake is engaged. The alert indicator will illuminate when both the direction control lever and the direction control switch are in the NEUTRAL position. The alert indicator should come on during start-up. The alert indicator should go out when the parking brake is released.

Work Lights (18) - The alert indicator will light when the work lights are activated.

Logic for Indicator Lamps

Table 1
Warning Lamp  Shutdown Lamp  Lamp Status  Description of Lamp Status  Engine State
ON  ON  Bulb Check  When the ignition is on, each bulb will illuminate for 2 seconds.  The key is on but the engine is not cranking.
OFF  OFF  No Faults Present  When the engine is running and both the bulbs are off, there are no active warnings or events.  The engine is running with no detected faults.
ON  OFF  Active Diagnostic  When the warning lamp is illuminated during the engine running, indicates an Active Diagnostic code (electrical fault).  The engine is running normally but there are one or more faults with the management of the engine system.
ON  FLASH  Derate (Invoked by Active Diagnostic)  When the Warning Lamp is illuminated and Shutdown Lamp is flashing during the engine running, indicates the Active Diagnostic (electrical fault). The diagnostic is sufficiently serious in order to invoke the engine derate.  The engine is running but there are one or more active diagnostic events that have initiated the engine derate.
FLASH  OFF  Warning Only  Should the warning lamp flash during engine running, indicating that one or more of the engine protection strategy warning values have been exceeded. Not to a level that will invoke derate or shutdown.  Engine is running normally but has one or more monitored engine parameters outside of the acceptable range.
FLASH  FLASH  Derate (Warning and Derate)  Should both the warning lamp and shutdown lamp flash during an engine running. Indicating that one or more, of the engine protection strategy values have been exceeded beyond the level required to invoke engine derate.  Engine is running but 1 or more of the monitored engine parameters has gone beyond a warning only. Not exceeding those settings for the engine derate.
ON  ON  Engine Shutdown  Should both the warning lamp and shutdown lamp illuminate during the engine running, indicating that either:
1. One or more of the engine protection strategy shutdown values has been exceeded.
2. A serious Active Diagnostic has been detected.
Shortly after the engine will shutdown.
Engine is either shutdown or shutdown is imminent. One or more monitored engine parameters have gone beyond a warning or derate. Now exceeding those settings for an engine shutdown. A serious Active Diagnostic has been detected.
