Combustion Body - Remove and Install

Usage:

C7 C7S

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the clean gas induction cooler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Clean Gas Induction Cooler - Remove and Install".

Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.

----------------------

Note: Put identification marks on all hoses, on all hose assemblies, on all wires, and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies.

Note: Put orientation and location marks on all fittings for installation purposes.

  1. Turn the fuel supply to the OFF position.


    NOTICE

    Contact with high pressure fuel may cause personal injury or death. Wait 60 seconds after the engine has stopped to allow fuel pressure to purge before any service or repair is performed on the engine fuel lines.

  1. Disconnect coil wire (1). Remove bolt (2). Disconnect ground wire (3) .

  1. Disconnect tube assembly (4) .

  1. Remove bolts (5) .

  1. Disconnect tube assemblies (6) .

  1. Remove bolts (8). Disconnect tube assembly (7) and remove the gasket. Disconnect tube assembly (9) .

  1. Disconnect tube assembly (10) .

  1. Remove clamp (11) .

  1. Remove bolts (12). Position clips (13) out of the way.

  1. Remove bolts (14). Remove bolts (16). Pull back heat shield (15) and (17) .

  1. Remove bolts (18). Remove combustion body group (ARD) (19) .

Installation Procedure

  1. Install combustion body group (ARD) (19). Install bolts (18) .

  1. Position heat shield (17). Install bolts (16). Position heat shield (15). Install bolts (14) .

  1. Position clips (13). Install bolts (12) .

    Note: The clamp for the combustion body group (ARD) can be used only one time. Discard the clamp for the combustion body group (ARD) after use.

  1. Install a new clamp (11) .

  1. Connect tube assembly (10) .

  1. Connect tube assembly (9). Install the gasket and connect tube assembly (7). Install bolts (8) .

  1. Connect tube assemblies (6) .

  1. Connect ground wire (3). Install bolt (2). Connect coil wire (1) .

  1. Turn the fuel supply to the ON position.

End By: Install the clean gas induction cooler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Clean Gas Induction Cooler - Remove and Install".
