Track-Type Tractor:

D6N (S/N: DJA1-UP; DJY1-UP)

Description of Change: Improved cab insulation is now available for the D6N Track-Type Tractor. The improved insulation will help to reduce engine noise. The improved insulation also helps to improve the cab pressurization in order to prevent dust from entering into the cab.

Adaptable To: The improved cab insulation is effective with the D6N (S/N: DJA822-UP; DJY1205-UP). The following rework procedure is adaptable to the D6N (S/N: DJA1-821; DJY1-1204).

1. Disassemble the 249-8089 Rear Cover at the rear of the seat.

2. Disassemble the right hand 240-0488 Armrest .

3. Disassemble right hand plastic console (4) .

4. Add seal (1) around the joystick for the bulldozer blade. Seal (1) must begin at grommet (5) for the electrical wire.

5. Disassemble control plate (6) .

6. Add 300 mm (11.8 inch) of seal (2) to control plate (6). Refer to Illustration 3 for the location of seal (2) .

8. If the machine has a rear attachment control, add 60 mm (2.4 inch) of seal (2) to both sides of the ripper/winch control. Refer to Illustration 4 for the correct location of seal (2) .

9. Assemble the right hand plastic console.

10. Assemble the right hand 240-0488 Armrest .

11. Assemble the 249-8089 Rear Cover at the rear of the seat.

12. Disassemble firewall panel (7) .

13. Remove the air filter.

14. Remove the protection plate in order to access the heater compartment.

15. Add insulation (3) under the heater coil.

16. Assemble the protective plate.

17. Assemble the air filter.

18. Assemble the firewall panel.
