Hydraulic oil cooler (3) is an oil-to-water cooler. Hydraulic oil cooler (3) is located on the left frame rail near the engine.
If the water pump is turning, coolant will be circulating through hydraulic oil cooler (3). The coolant enters the oil cooler from coolant line to the hydraulic oil cooler (10). The coolant exits the oil cooler from coolant line to the core for the separate circuit (4).
Under normal operating conditions, hydraulic oil from the fan pump will circulate to the demand fan through the line to demand fan (7). The hydraulic oil returns from the fan through the line from the demand fan (6).
If the hydraulic oil temperature is below the opening temperature of the cooler bypass valve, the hydraulic oil will enter the bypass valve through the inlet to bypass valve (9). The hydraulic oil will exit the bypass valve through the outlet from the bypass valve (1). The hydraulic oil returns to the tank through line (8).
If the hydraulic oil temperature is above the opening temperature of the cooler bypass valve, the hydraulic oil will enter the bypass valve through the inlet to bypass valve (9). The hydraulic oil will exit the bypass valve through the outlet to hydraulic oil cooler (2). The hydraulic oil will pass through the cooler before returning to the tank through line (8) to the tank.

Return oil from fan drive motor (12) enters thermal bypass valve (13) through inlet (9). When the preset temperature is reached, thermal bypass valve (13) will prevent the hydraulic oil from passing directly through the valve. The hydraulic oil is then diverted through cooler (3).
The opening temperature for thermal bypass valve (13) is
