Start By:
- Remove the hydraulic tank. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic Tank - Remove".
- Remove the hydrostatic pumps. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Piston Pump (Hydrostatic) - Remove".
- Remove the implement pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Piston Pump (Implement) - Remove".
- Remove the main control valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Main Control Valve - Remove".
- Remove the batteries. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Battery - Remove and Install".
Note: Put identification marks on all hoses, on all hose assemblies, on all wires, and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies. This helps to prevent fluid loss, and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the removal procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

NOTICE |
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |

Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire. To help prevent possible injury, turn the start switch off when changing fuel filters or water separator elements. Clean up fuel spills immediately. |

- Turn the fuel supply valve to the OFF position.
- Drain the fuel tank. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fuel Tank and Water Sediment - Drain".

- Remove clamp (2). Remove hose assemblies (1). Repeat for the opposite side.

- Remove bolts (3) and reposition manifold assembly (4). Repeat for the opposite side.

- Remove bolts (5) and bracket (6). Repeat for the opposite side.

- Disconnect harness assembly (7) from plate assembly (8). Use two people in order to remove plate assembly (8). The weight of plate assembly (8) is approximately 27 kg (60 lb). Remove plate assembly (8) .

- Remove bolts (9) and plate assembly (10). Repeat for the opposite side.

- Disconnect clips (11) and hose assembly (12). Reposition hose assembly (12) .

- Remove bracket (14). Disconnect hose assembly (16) and bracket (15). Reposition hose assembly (16) and bracket (15) .
- Disconnect harness assembly (7) from support assembly (13). Attach a suitable lifting device to support assembly (13). The weight of support assembly (13) is approximately 39 kg (85 lb).

- Remove cap assembly (17). Disconnect clips (19). Cut cable straps (20). Reposition harness assembly (7). Remove bracket (18) .

- Remove hose assemblies (21). Loosen tube assembly (26) and reposition. Remove brackets (24) and (25). Disconnect harness assembly (22). Cut cable straps (23) and reposition harness assembly (22) .

- Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to fuel tank (27). The weight of fuel tank (27) is approximately 50 kg (110 lb). Remove fuel tank (27) .
