Introduction

The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

Intermittent communication failures have been reported on Track-Type Tractors that have a PL321 Product Link system. In addition, the green LED, which indicates the running status of the engine, will not illuminate.

Resolution

Modify the 255-4517 Control Harness As in order to add wiring for the "r-term" and "keyswitch" inputs between the PL121 Radio and the ECM.

Follow the procedure that is listed below in order to modify the harness.

1. Modify the harness in order to add a Green-18 gauge wire from pin 54 403-GN at the PL300 ECM to pin 4 at the PL121 Radio connector for the "R-TERM" circuit.

2. Modify the harness in order to add a Yellow-18 gauge wire from pin 70 308-YL at the PL300 ECM to pin 3 at the PL121 Radio connector for the "KEYSWITCH" circuit.
