Description of Change: The brace for the fender group that is on the left side of the wheel tractor has been redesigned. The new brace improves the clearance between the hardware that is used in order to mount the brace and the tire. The bolt heads for the brace are toward the tire.
Adaptable To: The redesigned 252-6264 Brace is now used in the 252-6274 Fender Gp. The alignment of the bolt holes has changed. The redesigned brace is adaptable back to the start of production of the machines. The bolt heads for the brace are toward the tire. The new brace became effective in production with the machines W1B118-UP and W1C266-UP.
Use the following procedure in order to install the new 252-6264 Brace to the earlier machines.
- Move the machine to a safe area that contains a hoist. Lower the bowl to the ground. Chock the wheels. Shut off the engine. Shut off the master switch.
- Attach a hoist to the fender in order to support the fender after you remove the brace.
- Remove the three bolts that secure the oil filler tube to the brace for the fender.
- Remove the three bolts that secure the brace to the case. Remove the three bolts that secure the fender to the brace. Discard the brace.
- By using the three bolts from Step 4, attach the new brace to the case. Tighten the bolts to 175 N·m (130 lb ft).
- By using two bolts from Step 4, attach the fender to the new brace. Tighten the bolts to 175 N·m (130 lb ft).
Note: Refer to Illustration 2. The new brace is now positioned on the outside of the fender. The bolt heads are now on the inside of the fender.

- Drill a hole for the third bolt. Use the brace as the guide for the hole. Install the third bolt. Tighten the bolts to 175 N·m (130 lb ft).
- By using the three bolts from Step 3, attach the filler tube to the brace. Tighten the bolts to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).
- Remove the hoist from the fender.
- Move the machine to an area in order to road test the machine.
